SCHOLARSHIPS OVERVIEW

Students are eligible for up to $45,000 in scholarships as they move through the program’s three phases (Community College to UO Bachelor’s to UO Master’s). All Phase 1 scholarship recipients are automatically prioritized for Phase 2 and 3 scholarships, providing students a reliable source of funding for unmet financial need. Actual award amounts are determined by the student’s unmet financial need.

PHASE 1  |  Final Year of Community College
Up to $10,000 in scholarships per student in their final year of community college (year before transfer to University of Oregon).

PHASE 2  |  Junior and Senior Years at UO
Up to $10,000 per year ($20,000 max total) for students who complete Phase 1 of the program and matriculate to UO to pursue a bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry or biochemistry degrees.

PHASE 3  |  Master’s Degree at UO KCGIP
Up to $15,000 over 15 months (average time to degree completion) for students who complete Phases 1 and 2 and enroll in the Knight Campus Graduate Internship Program (KCGIP). The KCGIP pairs industry specific graduate coursework with a 9-month paid internship to fast-track students’ careers to high-wage jobs. Areas of specialization and degrees conferred are:

  • Bioinformatics and Genomics (MS in Biology).
  • Molecular Sensors and Probes (MS in Chemistry).
  • Polymer Science (MS in Chemistry).
  • Semiconductor and Photovoltaic Device Processing (MS in Applied Physics or MS in Chemistry).
  • Optical Materials and Devices (MS in Applied Physics).
